Protocol docs, signal processing, models and apps are all public. Every algorithm that turns sound into a score can be read, tested and challenged.
Better Layta than never
Layta is an open source app and toolkit for abdominal sensor patches, including Suna. No account, no cloud lock-in, no subscription. Built by volunteers at a non-profit, licensed so it stays that way.
Gut sounds, meals, sleep and bowel habits say a lot about a body. That record should not depend on one vendor's servers, pricing or survival.

No investors, no ads, no data deals. Layta is run by a non-profit and funded by donations and grants. Nobody can sell the project, or you.

Raw recordings and derived data stay on your phone or your own server. Export everything in open formats, any time, without asking.
Layta talks to the patch directly over Bluetooth Low Energy. No vendor account in the middle.
Bowel sound detection, motion and temperature analysis run on your phone. Models are open and reproducible.
Tag meals, stress and sleep. See how they line up with your gut activity over days and weeks.
Sync to your own server, export to Apple Health or Health Connect, or hand a CSV to your doctor. Or keep it all offline.
A daily summary of digestive activity, with the formula published next to the number. No black box.
Continuous acoustic tracking turned into a readable timeline. Raw audio kept only if you choose to keep it.

Everything exports to documented formats. Researchers and tinkerers can build on top. A self-hosted sync server runs in a single container.
We document each supported device's Bluetooth protocol in the open, so any app, not only ours, can read your own data.
Suna patches are announced to ship in 2027. Layta support follows once hardware is available to test against. Until then we develop against our own open reference patch. Whenever theirs lands, Layta will be ready, source code and all.
They say better late than never. With your gut data, sometimes later and open beats sooner and closed.

Support LaytaNo. Layta is wellness and research software. It does not diagnose or treat any condition. Talk to a doctor about symptoms.
No. Layta is an independent project with no relationship to Suna Health or XAICARE LTD. Suna is a trademark of its owner, used here only to describe compatibility.
We document protocols for interoperability so owners can access their own data. We do not ship vendor firmware or bypass security on anyone else's device.
That is the plan. The app targets both, plus a desktop viewer for exported data.
On your phone, encrypted at rest. If you enable sync, it goes to a server you choose, encrypted in transit. There is no Layta cloud.
Through individual donations and public interest grants, managed by the non-profit. No investors and no advertising.
